How to charge your Valentines Day?!

Today was looking exceptionally promising since I installed a fresh batch of batteries in my toothbrush and had a good ol’ time scrubbing my choppers this morning.

That was until I got to work.

I was under the impression that I had one fully charged CI battery left and you can imagine my surprise when they were all dead. Oh shh…

After calling myself a ding-dong a couple of times, I proceeded to inform my boss that her bionic employee had to run home and recharge herself!

Uh huh, yeah I never thought I would ever say that. That would be kind of awkward if I was in the middle of a date…

I walked back into work with my Valentine, my charging station that quickly buzzed my batteries back up to power!

So yeah, I learned my lesson: Be anal with charging your batteries.

With that being said, I want to say Happy Valentines day to all!

Been there done that! Love it. You are so silly Jeresy gal.

Mine went dead on Tuesday as I was teaching Reading. Yuck! I was not in my classroom, my classroom is outside in the cold, lonely, dark, and scary portable. Well I taught got done and changed it.

Lesson to be learned, always carry protection - even if it is only a battery.

I keep mine on the charger alllllllll the time...have only ever run out when the charger was unplugged! I like Val's thinking though...a great way to get a day off work!!

Oh WOW! I wonder how long they take to charge up? I hope not too long. I like the idea that you can recharge though. My HA batteries have gone out at work. Another lady at work wears the same size so we share sometimes. HAHA!

HAPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYY Birthday to you!!

If you see a guy dressed up in a Rabbit suit singing you a corny birthday song...my apologies, I tried canceling him, but Verizon was giving me a hard time because I was not "partially deaf". :-P

You know, you can get a car charger for your CI charger. :-D

Thanks for all your posts; I've learned so much about what it's actually like to get and live with a CI from what you've written, and I love how you write!

I have two hearing aids, so I always carry extra batteries everywhere I go. LOL

However I do forget to recharge my cell phone.

It's interesting the things you never thought you would say...I find myself in that situation a lot. We should make a list of the crazy things we have said as a result of CI's!

I've never had to say, "I need to go charge Drew," but I love saying, "His ear popped off," or "Have you seen his ear?"

I actually had a battery go dead in the middle of a date once, and my replacement battery was dead too because I hadn't fully plugged it into the charger. Definitely one of those "oh shhh..." moments.

It actually worked out. I could understand her by lipreading, and she started sniffling toward the end of the date because, she said, she'd never felt so listened to before.

Still, I never ever leave the house without two fully charged batteries. Never. Not even just to go to the corner store. Suppose there's an earthquake and my building collapses into rubble? Well, at least I'll have two days of power in which to call my insurance agent.

Loved your entry Abbie, your writing's getting better and better.

I have three ears to keep charged. What I do is keep disposables w/extra battery cases everywhere(home, my purse, my mom's) you can never be too careful!
