Bilateral Surgery Date...

I know it has been a while since I have brought good tidings to my blog. I have been poked, prodded and even had a sheep thrown at me as means to inquire into my whereabouts. The sheep did me in. But first, I like to take the time to thank the highly anticipated gazillion snowflakes that I will have to shovel and then risk life and limb to drive to work tomorrow for the time to sit and down and update this blog.

The breaking news that I have is that in a week on March 9th, I'm going bilateral. That's right folks, I am going under the drill again and getting my right ear implanted.

The countdown begins now.

Your so lucky. Here in England aren't allowed a 2nd implant yet. The NICE reports said children were to have 2 implants only. So, hopefully one day that will change.

anyway, good luck and I hope it goes well. keep posting!!

Good luck good luck!
I'm waiting for the scheduling/financial guy at the hospital to call me back so I can get dates. I wish he had been there when I had my appointment yesterday. Silly NC shutting down for 1" of snow.

Hi Abbie,

I just found you blog and have loved reading through your old posts. I have a 4 year old who just received his second implant this past January. It's great to have an adult's point of view of some of the things going on with my little man.
Good luck next week and congratulations.

Abbie, big hugs and congratulations on your exciting news! Let me know if you have any questions about being bilateral. Been bi for almost 2 years and very happy about it. Not as much of a noticeable difference as the first one, but with time have noticed significant ease of hearing in every venue. :)

Hey Abbie, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am just up the road if you need anything. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Maybe now I will stop dragging my feet, and jump in with both ears.
